Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Avocado chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert for people trying to eat healthy but who still want to indulge in dessert. Avocado mousse is a great alternative to a traditional chocolate mousse which is full of sugars and heavy dairy products. With only four ingredients this is the perfect recipe to whip up when those sugar cravings hit.
The cocoa powder and sweeteners completely mask the taste of the avocado in this recipe! It is also a great dessert option for vegans, low carb, and full of fiber and nutrients!

Avocado Chocolate Mousse Ingredients
Avocado: A large ripe avocado is ideal for this recipe. If it is not ripe it will be difficult to get the mixture smooth and lump free.
Cocoa Powder: Unsweetened or sweetened cocoa powder can be used, it all depends on how sweet you want the recipe to be!
Sweetener: For this recipe I used maple syrup as my sweetener but any type will work. Honey and agave are also good alternatives or it can be omitted completely for a more savory mousse.

How to Make Avocado Chocolate Mousse
- Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Blend in a food processor until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend until combined.
- Pour into two bowls and chill for 1 hour.
- Top with berries or cream as desired.

Tips for the Perfect Mousse
- Make sure to use ripe avocados for the smoothest mousse results.
- If the mousse is too thick add a teaspoon of water at a time to reach the desired consistency.
- Let the mixture chill for 1-2 hours so the flavors can develop and the mousse can set.
- Sweeteners can be omitted for a more rich and savory chocolate mousse.
Storage Instructions
Avocado mousse can be stored in the refrigerator for up to five days. It can also be frozen in an air tight container for up to two months.
